The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Indre By (Inner City)
This is the heart of old town Copenhagen, with its blend of charming old buildings and bold new architecture, broad avenues and tiny streets as well as picturesque canals and a modern harbor. The inner city is home to the Royal Danish Theatre, which consists of three buildings, two of which are new and situated on the harbor front. The streets, squares and venues of the inner city and its surrounding neighborhoods, are alive all year round with everything from jazz festivals to outdoor ice skating rinks and parachuting at the lakes right in the center of the city. This compact area boasts beautiful old castles, tranquil parks, and bustling squares where you can always find a bench to stretch out your legs whenever you need a break.

Feel this is the only decent art museum in Copenhagen. Lots of art to see, excellent modern art museum, much better than the older art sections. Would definitely recommend.

A nice gallery space amidst a sea of young hip artist types.

It was a fairly quick jaunt, again with a rotating exhibition. I imagine you're at the mercy of whatever is showing. I was lucky, I guess, because I found the Anglo-focused exhibit interesting. David Bowie stuff and Depeche Mode stuff, can't go wrong with that.

Also a really interesting short film by Jeremy Deller about soldiers during the war. I really liked sitting through that.

In a superb historic building, it was great to see some of the best inventive contemporary art.

Every year a number of temporary exhibitions are hosted, featuring Danish and International artists.

Today we visited Kunsthal Charlottenborg and we saw different exhibits which I really did not understand so much. Maybe I needed to get more knowledge about the exhibits before the visit. Look forward to seeing new exhibits next time I visit again, as we bought year card.

I dropped by the Charlottenborg art hall for at short visit. The art hall is located in a nice building, well suited for art exhibitions, but the exhibitions had a bit uneven quality (especially the spring exhibition). The one by Eva Koťátková was much better - and also better curated.

The Dutch baroque–style castle was built by Frederik III's half brother in 1670 and a section of the building, Kunsthal Charlottenborg is devoted to exhibitions of contemporary art. It is small, and it is free for those who purchased the Copenhagen Card, which is the best reason of all to visit.

Most art works are not ready, how could you be responsible to the ticket price you take?

An unexpected quality exhibition put together by the Danish artist Jesper Just was a
real treat.
This interactive installation stirred our deepest thoughts & perceptions into being for us
to fathom out its complexity & abstract meaning.

This was disappointing when we visited it. An exhibition about the European Union which was not really so interesting. Then there was one with some platforms and 3 shows. The most interesting was the movie in the small theater.
