Children's author Hans Christian Andersen, known as H.C. in Denmark, has been immortalized next to Copenhagen's City Hall. He's holding a book and cane and has a well-worn lap from all the children (of all ages) who have sat on his knees.

What can you say about Hans. He is a legend in Denmark. We saw the statue from a tour bus and the guide gave a brief history of his writings.

Great to see this statue just for the sake of having said that we saw it. It is a statue so not too much you can rave about.

As far as statues go it was pretty nice. If in the area or a fan of statues it's worth seeing. It's better than some. But it only takes about 2 minutes to look at.

The people that weren't at the Little Mermaid were at the Andersen statue. Nice statue and happy to see it. Not sure why he is looking at the Tivoli, maybe he want a ride!

You will see this if you go to City Hall Square- on corner across from entrance to Tivoli. Good place to get a picture of yourself with Hans.

Not really sure what else to say. It's a statue of Hans Christian Andersen. It is right outside the museum so it's a nice little stop.

Whimsical statue of Hans Christian Andersen gazing at Tivoli, the amusement park that inspired some of his stories.
