The National Museum of Denmark is the largest culture-historical museum in Denmark. The museum is a dynamic cultural institution offering a great variety of exhibitions and activities. Our artefacts come from all over the world and from different time periods. We can take you on a journey, traveling thousands of years through time and experience everything from the Danish national treasure the Golden Horns and the 3000 year old Egtved Girl to African masks and Egyptian mummies. In the Children's Museum, you can see and try things that show how people ate, worked, played and dressed hundreds of years ago in different environments.

Visited the national museum with my partner and another couple based on a friend's suggestion. It had a large variety of exhibits from typical Danish history to Asian cultures and I was even surprised to see Navajo tribe exhibits here. Entry fee was not too crazy, I think around 7 USD. Would recommend visiting but wouldn't put it at the... More

I loved this museum! I decided randomly to get off the hop on hop off bus here and so glad I did. They had a special exhibit called Japanomania with some of my favorite Japanese artists and also works by Monet, Van Gogh, and Gauguin. There are some cool Dali works (my favorite artist) in the museum and cool modern... More

A definite must see for history buffs, the National Museum, located in the Prince’s Palace, houses an excellent collection ranging from the Stone Age through to Modern Danish History. The Viking exhibitions were fascinating to us but we also found the collections pertaining to the Middle Ages & Renaissance very interesting. This is a very large museum - it will... More

An engaging and comprehensive trip of the culture of Denmark. The day ticket is only 75dkk and although we could only stay for around 2.5 hours, you could definitely spend more.

Depending on how much time you have and how much you are into history. This was a good place to learn about Denmark and the area. I was impressed by many items they have on display, especially the very old ones in the very first rooms. I kind of walked through most of the stuff but its a museum worth... More

Spent a few hours here as part of our visit to Copenhagen. It's a great museum, well laid out with a really good journey through time. You could easily spend a whole day here but we just chose the sections that interested us. It's worth the entrance fee to get a overview of Denmark through the ages, it's relationships with... More

Fabulous must visit place. So much holes in ones knowledge of the Viking's life are fully satisfied during the visit. Take your time, 2 to 3 hours is worthwhile.
