The beautiful 400-year-old castle is situated in central Copenhagen's popular park, The King's Garden. The castle was built by one of the most famous Scandinavian kings, Christian IV. Today, the glory of the past can be experienced through the numerous art treasures of the previous kings and queens. Among the main attractions is the Great Hall with the coronation thrones and three life-size silver lions standing guard. The crown jewels and royal regalia sparkle behind the thick walls of the treasury beneath the castle.

Now I know the overcrowding was not the fault of the management of the castle, but it really becomes a negative situation when visiting. Otherwise, it’s a beautiful and majestic edifice, with lovely gardens and beautiful buildings. We opted to just wander around without a...More

This castle is something different from other castles. They have their own vault where you can see the treasures of the king's family in person. The rooms are magnificent and grand. Hope to come back soon. We haven't toured the whole place due to time...More

We visited Rosenborg Castle during our recent trip to Copenhagen. Unlike some royal palaces in Europe, Rosenborg is not excessively big or overly decorated, but the rooms are well preserved and the tour is thoughtfully laid out. The highlight is unquestionably the Danish crown jewels...More

We recommend a tour of this palace. Beautiful gardens and exquisite details. We especially enjoyed seeing the Crown Jewels. Kids under 18 free, so a good value as well.

The self guided tour of the castle is very informative and a nice way to learn about a lot of Danish history. The Crown Jewels are the finale and the grounds are well maintained and lovely. The written guide is efficient and user friendly.

When one visits a castle, we likely have different interests. For me here, it was the many jewels of the crown, and the carving collection.I'm always impressed by the skills and talent of carving artists or jewellers of the past.
