This is a central church with lutheran austerity - no baroque in sight. It isn't built of marble, but stone, with simple lines and a wonderful dome. They have strict rules on noise and guided tours , so it is a lovely quiet spot for contemplation and shelter from the rain while waiting for the changing of the guard at... More

Frederik's Church, also known as The Marble Church in Copenhagen is a focal point on the axis from Amalienborg Palace. Designed by the architect Nicolai Eigtved in 1740, it has largest church dome in Scandinavia with a span of 31m resting on 12 columns, probably inspired by St. Peter's Basilica in Rome. The church had a chequered history. The foundation... More

This church is in the round, as can be seen from the outside. There's no charge to enter and it can be pleasant to sit in silence for a while and take in the decor. It's not an opulent church but subdued in its design which somehow makes it more please to the eye.

There isn't really any other place like this that I know of. It's easily accessible and worth going to, if for no other reason than to marvel at all the marble, so much that it couldn't even be built in one lifetime! That may be stretching the truth a bit, but truly do go, you won't need very long to... More

Very impressive architecture. Beautiful altar and huge dome. Folks were respectful and quiet. Would be a good spot to find some peace and quiet contemplation.

Don't miss this church if you are in the area! It is a short walk from Nyhavn and the Little Mermaid (Den Lille Havfrue). Really impressive and great for some time out. It was raining the day we went and it gave us much respite from the grizzly weather outside.

This Church should not be missed. It may not be the biggest domed church in Europe, but it is very impressive.

This church is extreme pretty, and has a nice temperature on a warm Summerday. If you got time and want to walk up some stairs, you can walk you to the top, and have a good view. The walk come with extra charges, and you will have to pay for this walk.
