Inspiering to find what is possible to get from and old coal poweplant! Instead of demolishment Aalborg has transformed it into an arena for their inhabitants. Restaurants, cinema, tourist information, gyms, kindergarten, meeting facilities and more.

Been here already three times as a performer. And only last time had a chance to go around. It's a fantastic place!!!! Power plant turned into a cultural house also music school and fitness club where you can climb the wall or jump on trampoline. Definitely you have to go to top 12 floor to see city panorama. And there's... More

Old power plant turned into a multi-functional cultural center. Aalborg University, edical services, sports centers, music school, a small art cinema, the local tourist center and some restaurants share a large volume of space. Often arrangements in the old generator hall, food market, design sale, etc. The view over Aalborg from the top floor is fantastic.

Loved the 'beach' on the ground floor, complete with recorded sounds of the sea and deck chairs. Kids there were having a ball playing in the sand and with the equipment provided. Also went to a conference dinner on the second floor. Not sure if the food was provided in house - was OK for catering for 350 or so... More

Nordkraft is a beautiful building in the center of Aalborg. It is full of shops and restaurants, moreover there is also the Tourism office. Something there are vintage markets, concerts and they are nice and well organized.

The inside of the building has been gutted (and looks it). Go up to the 4th floor and there's an agreeable, unpretentious cafe/bar which will serve you decent food and a bottle of beer (try the elderberry one). An excellent choice for a budget lunch.

We visited Nordkraft on a cold wet afternoon on March, looking for the tourist office. We found a warm, welcoming community centre with craft shops, cafés, cinema, art gallery as well as sports halls and a lift up to the thirteen floor with great views across the city. It is open all hours and well worth a visit, if only... More

I have been going for 5 months now couple times a week. I highly recommend the sports facilities especially the courses (spinning classes etc). It's not state of the art sports facilities but I think for the price it's great. 249kr for free participating all classes and other sport facilities, much cheaper if you just want to use the sport... I live in Aalborg and this is the new cultural centre for the city (about four years old), in an area that is slowly developing into the city's cultural district. It was formerly a coal-fired power station, so the main hall and some other bits are architecturally interesting. A mix of facilities for residents and visitors, including sports centre, meeting...
