This is a great place to visit with their old homes and over 4,000 weddings each year. The Danish know how to do it right. We loved our time there and had an excellent time just taking pictures.

Aero Island is quiet, quaint, and beautiful. The towns are small and lovely. We felt immediately at home and hated to leave two days later.

The landscape is fantastic the houses are almost all in an 1800 style and they are beautiful! Recommend going if you have the time. Can be fun for danish people as a weekend trip.

We rented bikes and enjoyed a fantastic tour of the island. What a pleasure to bike three meters away to the sea, surrounded by wheat fields. The villages are small and charming. We were also lucky to have a sunny day. What a great experience.

Great cycle routes, well signed and they have a really good new map at the tourist office. Beautiful landscapes, fantastic Ærø beer. We rent bikes at Pilebækens, I don't recommend, one bike was not in good condition and the tenant not very friendly.

We caught the ferry in Copenhagen, but I was on a tour and it was all arranged. There seem to be frequest ferries and yes there are cars. Our bus went on the ferry, too.

Svendborg is a pleasant port town but I would spend as much time on Aero as possible. Aeroskoebing is a splendid little town with lots of old world charm and good, reasonably priced restaurants. To really appreciate the... More
