Aero is sunny and colourful. The inhabitants say it has its own micro-climate, making it the sunniest place in Denmark. What I can surely say it's that it has a very relaxed atmosphere and lovely landscapes! But beware: the island is quite big so one...More
Æro is a magical place. An hour or so ferry from Svendborg and you’re transported to an island with history dating back over 400 years. We were fortunate enough to stay at a b&b hosted by a lovely couple. They helped us better understand the...More
If you are going to only one other place in Denmark other than Copenhagen, it should be this island. The village of Aeroskobing filled with 18th century and even 17th century homes is the most beautiful village in Denmark. The island has bronze age burial...More
Aero Island is definitely my favorite place I went when visiting Denmark. Everyone here was extremely friendly and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Many of the hotels offer bike rentals and we spent a day biking around the island, it was definitely worth it,...More
A little biased but it is an island that is worth visiting. There are 3 ferries - Svendborg and Faborg from East and North East, and Fynshav from the West. Each about 1 1/2 hours - car or bicycle are the best way to see...More

Aero is called the Las Vegas of Europe as it's one of the best and easiest going places if you want to have a quick, fun & loving wedding. But besides the wedding business that keeps nearly the whole island going - Aero is a...More

I'm not sure about the taxi situation, but I do know there is a public bus that runs the length of the island regularly. I'm not sure if that was only seasonal (I was there in early September 2017) but it was on time, clean and free.

Hey! Yeah you can transfer trains in Odense very easily. I was coming from Fredericia by train and transferred in Odense to a different train going to Svendborg. After that I took the train back to Odense and transferred to a train going to Copenhagen. The Odense train station is in the "middle" of the country so you van transfer from there and go anywhere.
