The cathedral sits in a plaza surrounded by pedestrian streets with shops and restaurants. The evening we visited, the plaza was filled with families enjoying a pleasant evening. Beautiful church.

Like most places in Greece the church is the center of all things. This is a beautiful example of a traditional Greek Orthodox Church you would find in villages and cities all over Greece. The area is full of restaurants and cafes close to the...More

We were touring the city, and a huge storm suddenly came on. We took shelter in the veranda of the church. We did go in & light candles, and the architecture is beautiful. A must see in Volos.

St. Nicolas Cathedrale is in the center of Volos, byzantine style and a real splendour; on sundays a red carped is berfore the entrance, people are very religious; a great and impressive atmosphere in this cathedrale. Nice place before with benchs .

The walls are covered in frescoes and although it's not an ancient church it is certainly impressive. You can sit quietly and watch the faithful making their prayers and soak up the atmosphere, while admiring the paintings that cover every surface. Some impressive icons too

Very nice cathedral in the center of Volos, splendour inside, sumptious chendeliers, solemn mess, and I entered; I want to see, it was a mess for a dead man, I will not say what I saw all there, it was too, or very moving.

Thank Manuela L
