We visited in December and walked from Glossa which took 2 hours each way. By 2pm the beaches were shady but the rock with the church were beautiful and we had the whole place to ourselves. A lovely quiet stroll.

Not the best idea to do this in flip flops like I did, if my greek friend who is a local and used to the climb would have told me how steep it was I would have prepared. If you have a fear of heights this is not going to work out for you. I happen to not have a... More

My wife and I have spent our wedding anniversary in various parts of Greece for many years. We sailed past this chapel a couple of years ago on a day trip from Skiathos. Being big Abba fans, I decided that this would be a nice place to renew our wedding vows on our 30th. This is what I organised for... More

This was an amazing climb up steep steps to reach the church that was in the Mama Mia! movie. I have a fear of heights so had to keep my eyes on the steps for the climb. It was well worth it. At the top there is a lovely small church and incredible views of the sea. I climbed in... More

we made the mistake and went here midday, hot, steep but so worth it, it had the most incredible views once you were up there, it was so relaxing and calm sitting up there, the climb down was worse than the climb up, but is a must to do, ( but not midday )

We did early morning trip from Skopelos Town and we arrived at 09:00 - and there wasn't another sole in sight. Enjoyable hour; relatively easy climb to the church. Surprisingly un-commercialised Worth doing if fan of Mammia Mia

From the first glimpse when you approach by car, to the incredible views from the top, this is a must see. Dont be put off by the climb (198 steps) you can take your time if you need to, personally we found the climb ok, and we are not so young. What really struck us was the free entry, although... More

Long enjoyable walk there and back but the monastery is nothing fantastic but I am used to the rugged coastline of Cornwall I think you feel you must say this is a fantastic place because everyone seems to rave about it so much but if I am honest if it was not for mamma Mia not many people would go

You can't come to Skopelos and not visit this beautiful spot. No wonder it was chosen for Hollywood fame. Hats off to Meryl Streep for running up here as it is soooo steep! Well worth the climb up for the fantastic views at the top. Choose a cooler time of day and take water as you will need it at... More
