Lalaria Beach

About
This stunning beach on the northeastern end of Skiathos is lined with small unique white pebbles instead of sand. Here, you can enjoy the clear blue waters of the Aegean sea and visit the picturesque stone arch Tripia Petra that marks one end of the beach. The beach is best seen in the morning as it is shrouded in shade in the afternoon.
Surrounded by steep cliffs, this remote beach is accessible only by boats from the old harbor. Alternatively, join a private boat tour which will also take you to explore other nearby beaches and sea caves.

- jemmaEdinburgh, United Kingdom2 contributionsBeautiful water but sore on your feetThe water is stunning, a lovely colour and great for a swim. However, the stones that are there instead of sand are SO SORE!! really hurt my feet so make sure not to go barefoot. It is also very busy and only one little corner of shade when i went (11am) but if you are in skiathos i really recommend going on a boat trip there because if you are prepared then it should be a really enjoyable experience.Visited July 2023Travelled with familyWritten 6 July 2023

It’s literally just a beach; no toilets, no café/restaurant etc and you can only access this beach by boats, that you easy can find in Old and new town in Skiathos. Really hard to swin, since the waves are big and the beach is made of small rocks.Visited July 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 21 July 2023

Friendly, brilliant value. Clear comms, perfect amount of time in each place (Mamma Mia church and beach 1h30, Skopelos town 2h, Lalaria 1h - boat stayed and could get on when liked). We were on an excursion and were supposed to go to this ‘beach’ in the morning but the conditions weren’t right apparently.
We eventually arrived at about 17:30 after a very long day and as previous reviews have said, we were also dumped on the ‘beach’.
It’s a pebbly beach which felt like a million bits of broken glass stabbing your feet. It hurt like hell!!! I did go in the water which was lovely but I think if you’re not a confident swimmer then don’t attempt it on a choppy day.
There’s certainly little dignity in getting in and out of the water, but we were all in the same boat so to speak.
I really wouldn’t bother to be honest, way overrated.

I have taken 3 good daily cruises to Skopelos Mamma Mia Island :the chapel, Panormos, Kastani and Milies beaches, Lalaria beach, Tsougria beach and the Dragon Cave. Kastani beach is in the south of Skopelos and as Lalaria beach it is known for its crystal clear waters and it was used as a location in the film mamma Mia "Does your mother know?". Panormos beach was the set of "Our last summer" - mamma Mia. Lalaria beach with its turquoise water is surrounded by the famous white pebbles smoothed by the sea since mythological times.

Described as the most beautiful beach on the island, this was a big disappointment. Almost drove by it in our boat as it was just another beach. Would not bother going there by boat or charter, there are many other nice beaches and areas on the island worth a visit rather than this

Went with Haris-Konstantinos - terrible, wouldn't use them again. On a very hot afternoon, we were dumped on Lalaria beach for an hour and a half - no shade as there were signs and evidence warning of falling rocks. The sea was difficult to get into because of the wind, we basically fried there. There were no other boats there for the period we were dumped on the beach, surely they could have left the boat there for people to go back to or at least returned say 30 mins early
I have never been in a holiday boat trip that was so unfriendly, not even a good morning - it's plain rude. Thus was badged as a Mama Mia experience for 50 euros when all it amounted to was a ferry between 3 places.
No attempt made by the crew to create a great experience, so unlike the Greeks - I'd avoid, there must be better boats than this one.

The people of the boat trip were frothing about Lalaria Beach, the water is a lovely aqua marine, the beach is made up of small stones, the arch is quite disappointing, pictures make it look massive however in real life it's about 25 to 30 feet high...my friends climbed up the back side and jumped off the top, the water was about 7 feet deep...not the best beach on the island

Buona fortuna!

Does anyone know if it’s possible to swim from Kastro to Lalaria? It doesn’t look far and we’re used to swimming from Ligaries to Kechria and from Megalos Aselinos to Mikros Aselinos and it looks about the same distance... I know the north of the island can be a bit feisty with the currents and wind but we’re keen to avoid the tourist trap of the boats.
Thanks in advance!

I wouldn’t swim that distance personally
If you get into trouble out there you are in the middle of no-where.
The beach is very over rated imho and gets spoiled by the amount of tourists and boats (playing disco music) that dump hundreds of people at once. Atmosphere killer.
Grazie a chi risponderà

Graxie a chi risponderà
