Driving on and around these mountains is an experience in itself. We drove around a number of towns and villages in this area and the views are absolutely breathtaking, literally! We drove on many narrow, winding roads, high up on the mountains, and the feeling...More

The road is fine over the mountain route from Sparta to Kalamata and so can be taken steadily even if you are unused to hill driving. Locals will pass when you move in as usual in Greece towards the side of the road. Excellent views...More

This hike is exceptional in spring with the path leading up through a pine forest with glorious bird song and the delicate wildflowers such as cyclamen, crocus and primrose just emerging. The trailhead was a challenge to find because we could not read the Greek...More

Two-lane highway provides thrills as it winds through this mountain range and features rock overhangs and tunnels through...More

Wonderful, dramatic scenery, winding roads, lush vegetation, quaint villages. Travelled through on route to Mistras and Sparti. Well worth it.

We stayed in a beautiful hotel half way up the Mountain. The views were supreme. The air was clean. It was a very refreshing take on Greece. Quite a contrast to the July and August crowds and heat around the most popular tourist spots.
