I had visited the site 20 plus years ago on a school trip. And the site is just as amazing now. A couple of reconstructed columns. Amazing place whether an organised tour or if you just fancy exploring.

It's amazing to step into history. To run on the original Olympic stadium! To see where they lit torches. Just go and be in awe

This site is important to anybody interested in the history. But take into consideration, that it is very ruined - by earthquakes, but more by Christians

A place that everyone needs to visit since it's the birthplace of the Olympics! It's better to visit the archaeological site first and early, esppecially during the summer! The heat is unbearable during this period. The museum hostes findings and treasures from the area. We...More

It's amazing how these ruins were found by a German archeologist 7 metres underground, just imagine the amount of soil they had to remove to find this the site of the ancient Olympic Games. This is where the Olympic flame is still ignited before its...More

There is something about this place that makes you tingle. Despite modern scandals, drug issues and the payoffs this is the very place where it all began back in 776 BC albeit not the modern Olympics which were first held in Athens in 1896 after...More

As mentioned, go when the facility opens. It will give you time to wander in peace and take it the sites. The walking is easy...no hills. Please allow time to visit the museum. Tour groups can be an issue. People are running... More
How much time should I allow to wander the Olympic site and museum? My husband and I are fast walkers, enjoy ruins, but by this time in our trip we may be reaching our bi-weekly quota of "rocks and temples". But, of course, want to do this amazing site justice ...

There were no queues when we went. But be careful on timing, there were 22 buses there when we arrived in town. This was due to cruise ships at a nearby port.
