The remains of this structure looks rather strange with all the modern buildings around it. Originally it consisted of 3 arches but the southern one is missing. Through the centre arch passed the Via Regia. On the walls of the arches are sculptures of people...More

Arch of Galerius is an archway to the city with many history and secrets, so nice to meet and know more over this ancient nice and good preserved arch; ancient times and new city is a good connection, an old connecting door of much interest.

Again your mind flies to ancient times as soon as you see it. I liked the basoreiefs. I love this special monument.

Apsida is a characteristic spot in Thessaloniki and it is famous for students to meet here then continue to hang out to one of the many student coffee shops that serve cheap coffee which you can find walking all the way up.

It is nice to watch such lovely monuments, while walking across the citys most popular avenues. Attractive enough!

Standing in the middle of the city nice place to check passing by. Part of Thessaloniki history. Very nice decorated with bodies of soldiers who were fighting for the city.

Amazing to see that the gate is still in a grate shape and in the middle of the city. Lovely stores near and it was a pleasure to see all the pigeons sitting on the gate. Recomended.

Built to proclaim Roman Galerius victory over Persians this still standing gate with fine carvings greet visitors with the feeling of ancient conquests.
