An excellent collection of Byzantine Art in the heart of true Macedonia. I purchased a combo ticket which included entrance to White Tower, the Greek Agora & Roman Forum as well as this museum. The value can't be beat.

This small but wonderful museum is a must see for Thessaloniki. There is so much great information here that should not be missed to learn more about the Byzantine culture!

There are two museums that people often recommend to visit in Thessaloniki, one being the Archeological Museum and one being this one, the Byzantine Museum. It is really an interesting museum located not far from the White Tower. There are 11 rooms which represent 11 different sub-era of the byzantine culture.

a normal museum of history. They don't offer private guides and so you have to read all the written on the wall but many of them are so long and so little that after a bit you got really bored. There are also some video clip but all in greek so it was impossible to understand the meaning. The staff... More

A museum one must visit when in Thessaloniki as it faithfully traces early Christianity, through to Byzantine and present. Early decoration of churches, the mosaics, the wall paintings and portable icons as well as many objects found in excavated cemeteries and ruins around city. Vases, coins, jewellery, domestic items and much more. The museum I believe has won many European... More
