The layout and curation of the museum lend a hand in helping the visitor to understand Byzantium and its place in history, artistically, religiously and socially as well as geographically. Give yourself a good hour at least to stroll through.

This the most impressive museum of Thessaloniki with an anormous collection of very valuable pieces of art. We loved this place most of all the historic sites in the city.
