We wanted to see this church as it features in Victoria Hislop's The Thread. A tranquil place with numerous icons. Loved it.

Anyone who ha read 'The Thread' will know of this church , it is one of the few in Thessaloniki to have survived 1927 fire, covered in original late Byzantine frescoes

This is a true gem - some of the BEST Byzantine frescos of Macedonian style (lighter than the typical Byzantine icons style, more naturalistic, with blues and greens) in the whole of Greece, I think; and it's in one of the loveliest locations in Thessaloniki
