The Monastery is beautiful and the views stunning. Well worth the drive up. Drive through Anogi & stop at the small store & try the home made lemonade. Delicious. The lady kindly gave us the key to visit the church next door, which we enjoyed...More

We visited as part of a guided tour. This monastery is beautiful & very peaceful, you don't have to be religious to appreciate the interior & the architecture. Well worth a visit.

It was certainly worth the ride up. With winds howling and rain on that day we visited the monastery and found shelter inside. The view from the top was breathtaking and the beauty surrounding the area was very spiritual.

Absolutely fabulous views over Ithaka and its capital Vathi, the Monastery is in various state of repair but well worth the drive to absorb the view

Ignore the nonsense about selfie opportunities from one particular reviewer - this is simply a "must do" destination. The monastery is the religious centre of the island. It's in a remote location, the highest point on the island. It's a hairy journey to get here...More
