It is a small monastery with such a wonderful aura. You can visit Mouse Island (we did not do this) very easily. There is a gift shop. It is the placement of the monastery right on the ocean, the beauty of location and nature that makes this a very special place to visit.

Built in the 17th century, it stopped functioning as a nunnery in 1980. Today it is open to visitors (hours may vary) and it can be reached by a pedestrian bridge. The best views are from Kanoni Hill Viewpoint (adjacent to the Kanoni Cafe).

What a gorgeous little monastery with views to be envied, we were staying just up from here & we visited everyday it’s so peaceful & calming, plenty of areas to sit outside if you want to just listen to the ocean & maybe have a seat with a cat or two!

Nice place to visit, with plenty of free parking. The monastery itself is small. You can get "that photo" by walking up to the hillside restaurants. You can also get great videos of the planes going ring over your head at pretty low level to land at Corfu Airport

Very beautiful, and there are many things to see in the area. Just please be mindful that it’s a place where people pray, so if you want to go inside it’s a good idea to remember to bring more than swimwear. (I personally didn’t think of this, because the trip was spontaneous)

Corfu has many Monasteries all over the island, but we found this being the most picturesque one (and probably the smallest one).
It's set on a tiny islet connected to mainland with a small causeway, just few kms south of the Kerkyra town.
There's a big free parking lot in front. The Monastery is so cute - in the middle of the bay, but very small - you'll need a couple of min to see it.
An added bonus for your pics are the planes flying just above it and landing at Corfu airport next door.

I had a quick visit here and would recommend it. The whole experience from walking across the wall over the water and seeing a plane flying overhead, to walking up the small hillside to have a coffee with a view was well worth it - make the extra effort to go up for a coffee!

The actual monastery was quaint, but don’t expect a long visit. It’s an impressive little building to look at, but no more

Beautiful monastery. Take 2a blue bus from V. Dousmani in Corfu Old Town, very inexpensive, and get off at the end of the route. Delightful views from cliff top down to Vlacherna Monastery and Mouse Island. Ice creams and tavernas and loos. Walk down cliffs (another taverna and loos) to Monastery, and then take a boat trip (€2.50) to Mouse Island, for a wander round and then up to the Chapel at the top. Boats every 15 minutes and come back when you want. Back up the cliff (gentle walk although it looks steep) to the tavernas at the top. Highly recommended!

The monastery is very small - possible to visit within a few minutes. It's just 3 km away from the airport, but difficult to reach on foot.
