This is a must visit. There are so many places to see and walking in the old town you can feel the history, if you are good listener you can hear the voice of history from the authentic old buildings. Many things I appreciated about our day in Rhodes: 1. From the cruise ship to the Old Town walls is about a 5-7 minute walk. 2. In the harbor there was a manned information desk with maps and also a stamp that you could potentially put in a passport. 3. Lots of shops, restaurants, bakeries, and a pharmacy all within... More

It's the heart of the city. History is mixed up with every day life. There are shops, cafes, restaurants, hotels, houses, museums, but everything is so well combined with the place, its architecture and its history. Take a walk around and you will fall in love with it..

Our excursion with our guide started around 10 a.m. Encompassed with tall defense walls, The Medieval Old Town of Rhodes was a huge place to explore. The walk around the outside wall was very beautiful, mostly parks and stopping points to overlook open walking area with grass, walking paths and trees. The City had 11 gates and each gate had... omg..I walked for 7 hours withough stopping in this beautiful town. After that, I couldn't feel my soles but it was so worth it. It was so hot that we couldn't even breathe in the afternoon, we stopped to eat a gyros , drink a beer and eat a kinder bueno icecream and we were good to go. I would... More

We arrived to the city at the end of our day so we had a short stop there. People were very friendly and busy getting ready to go home.

Don't be over taken by the rush, take time out to stop and look around, especially up, the old buildings feature some amazing architecture and designs.Allow yourself to be drawn into the back streets , relax, get lost and enjoy. There are plenty of smaller , more artisan shops away from the main shopping streets and they are great for bargain... This is the first preview of Rhodes (coming by ferry boats) and it's very simple to start visiting the Medieval city just entering through the walls...

My husband and I went on a cruise with some friends and Rhodes was one of the stops. We weren't familiar with Rhodes but found it was one of our favorite places. Our ship docked right across from the Old Town gates and we could just walk to the city walls. Just beautiful! We went fairly early before too many... More
