Very nice visit, ruins are interesting, great photo opportunities, large grounds, worth exploring all corners as the views are amazing. Don't be put off by the 6euro entrance fee. Also, walk to the big Cross along the avenue of trees, the views when you get...More

It’s a short drive up the torturously winding woodland road to the site and definitely not a walk I would want to do though well worth the detour from Ialyssos. We left the kids to entertain themselves at the bottom of the steps by the...More

Filérimos Monastery has a long history, but without a guide or at least some sign explaining the history of the monastery itself, the subterranean chapel, the (seemingly Italian) Via Dolorosa, it's all guesswork. Six Euros entrance fee gets you no explanation, but a look at...More

We went here on a sunday, we were surprised they don't charge an entrance fee on sunday! The peacocks are everywhere on the grounds and made the visit even more fairlytaley. The monastery itself wasn't that impressive to me, but the views were absolutely stunning.

The monastery itself is not too impressive - it is small and not distinguished by any exceptional works of art but the main thing here is the peacocks. There are hundreds of them and they wander freely around here. The view from the hilltop is...More

Probably the best view on the island. This place is really interesting. As well as the cross, the walk out to it has monuments to the twelve stations of the cross to stop and read (unfortunately in Latin). But you are also walking amongst wild...More

Worth a visit. A local bus goes up/down but not very often. Or go by taxi. Kiosk at top in car park can order you taxi don but as from 2018 there is an extra 3Euro charge. Popular place for Greek marriages plus foreigners can...More

When leaving the airport the first spot noticed in Rhodes is large cross on the hill nearby that is visible a long way around. The Filerimos Monastery is also located on this hill. The monastery can be easily reached with a car or bus and...More

It doesn't take long to drive up to here from the main coast road and it's worth it. Shady with roaming peacocks. Take the stroll along to the look out point for fantastic views and great for watching the aeroplanes land on the runway at...More

Not as such more of a gift shop with cold drinks and prepared sandwiches in the fridge and a few tables dottes around to sit on.
