Of course famous because of the film Shirley Valentine. We didn't choose the Hippy fish to stop for the day. The sun beds looked tacky and too close to each other. The huge double sunbeds should have been placed at the back of the beach...More
We were brought here for a short stay during our private tour of Mykonos by our guide cum driver Angelo. He brought us to the extreme quite end where there were no chairs and umbrella. Very few people were there and the beach was looking...More
Last year this was pretty, but this year unfortunately it’s not because the waves damage the beach. They charge you 40€ for chair and umbrella. Last year at the same time it was 18€. There in no showers or changing rooms on the beach. Most...More
I live in Australia so I guess I'm spoilt when it comes to beaches. Agios Ioannis Beach is one of the more secluded beaches. Not packed with beach chairs like the more popular beaches on Mykonos. Still has some beach chairs. Water is nice &...More
We came here twice despite not staying here as the beach is so nice and peaceful.
Small-ish with only two restaurants to choose from , but both very nice too.
There was a very quiet part of the beach further along where nudists could bathe...More
This beach is everything that we wanted on our vacation to Mykonos. As it is a bit out of the main areas, the crowd is far less here. The water is excellent with very fine and beautiful sand to stand on. Some areas have beach...More

Well, I don't know exactly, but maybe 15 minutes from the center of town. I would highly recommend you check out the transportation options before you do this. It took us just a few minutes of waiting at the taxi stand to get a cab to take us there. The real problem was getting back. The beach restaurant which served us all day, called for a cab and were told that none were available. We didn't know what to. We waited around for a while and went to the restaurant next door. They called and were told the same thing. Finally the host there took pity on us and asked I we would like for him to call a friend and arrange private transportation. This was just a private citizen in his own car that picked us up and drove us to our hotel. It was not the most comfortable idea, as I was with my 18 yo daughter, just two women and the movie taken kept popping in my head. Now, we were told that there was a bus that would pick up there, but I just didn't know how to manage that and where we were going since we hadn't even been to our hotel yet. So, it really was a destination that was worth getting to; especially if you are looking for a quieter experience than the typical crazy Myknos party scen. I just don't know if I'd try it I had to get back to a cruise ship. A driver there later told us that they only issue, like 40 taxi licenses because they don't want the locals to get overrun by cabs and tourists.
