This church has precious views. Getting here is difficulty if you walk. Car park is non existent. Get yourself dropped off.

This was such a beautiful church. I loved that the tour guide gave us so much information about it and we had plenty of time to look around

This monastery is on the edge of the village. Currently (7th June 2022) it is actually wrongly placed on the Trip Advisor map. Use Google maps to get the correct location . This was somewhat similar to the monastery in the village, cuboid white built around a courtyard. The differences were that this monastery had flowers growing everywhere and the church was set to the side. It was extremely peaceful and a beautiful place to meditate.

I only came here as part of a tour and not choice. It was OK. Would I recommend it, no? Middle of nowhere. Interesting but not worth making a special trip.

Absolutely pointless. Heavy road, all winds have meeting here, narrow crossroad, so ne can even hardly park and at the end the Gyzi tower appeared to be few scattered rocks behind a licked door, while the monastery didn't impressed with anything.

Walk to this sight was enjoyable and not too strenuous. The views were nice and the church/monastery were interesting. However, there was not a ton to see at the site and I would not recommend making the trip if you are short on time.

Charming traditional Greek church and small museum. Nice little town and getaway from the large crowds in Mykonos. Not a lot to do here, but worth a stop for a while. Taverna Vangelis was nice for lunch. Not much for te kids though.

We drove south from Mykonos Town to a small town called Ano Mera. The Paleokastro Monastery dates back to the 1600's and 1700's. The old sanctuary is open to the public for a small charge. Also there is a small museum upstairs with old relics, priest's robes, communion chalices and old bibles. The little village next to the monastery has a few shops and restaurants and would be a nice lunch stop.

One of the few attractions in Ano Mera. You can pay to light a candle in the very ornate Orthodox Church. It would be nice if the one euro entrance fee included some information about the place. There is a museum on the second level. It was obviously very moving to some of the people there, as a woman left in tears after viewing.

Great monestery and features the black Madonna. Get a guide or ask someone around to tell you about its date and protection from robbers when Mykonos first became prosperous
