I love Rethymnon. 'Like Venice without the canals.' Great beach, beautiful old town, many excellent restaurants to choose from. Suits both young and old.

We spent a few days here, absorbing just this area of Crete. Peaceful, warm busy, but not over populated. Being a spoiled American, English is my only language and throughout Crete, this was not an issue. The Old Town is full of seaside restaurants, shops...More

The narrow alleys; the colour; the cafes. It is all here. Strolling is the best pastime, with a visit now and then to a cafe.

The town is a spiders web of little streets with excellent restaurants, and bars. You can eat well for not a great deal of money. There are the usual range of shops from those selling holiday type goods to high quality goods

Charming little Venetian town, in which you can wander around for hours. The harbor is beautiful and there are plenty of little shops to browse in.

Cute shopping and nice restaurants. A lot of store have the same things but you can get local products. There are few shops that sell local candy and cookies that are worth stopping in.
