In pretty good shape with lots to see. Great views of the city and waterfront. The mosque is special. The Venetians knew what they were doing. An important part of history.

Went on a very warm day but well worth the uphill walk to get there. 4 euro admission but lots to see and look at, some ruins some intact buildings, excellent info boards all round and the views were stunning .

This is one mighty castle! The views were amazing and the history of the place was well preserved. Only gripe was you have to pay for the toilets, but it did give an excuse to wander into a cafe down the road for a "refreshment"

Excellent vantage point from a defense aspect overlooking the lovely port of Rethymno. supposedly the largest fortification construction erected by the Venetians over 400 years ago.

We visited Rethymnon for the day, and the fort was top of our list to do. We're glad we did. Entry was free, perhaps as it was off season. Nice walk around, great views of the snow capped mountains and a shop on exit to...More
