I walked up to the cemetery with a couple of guests at my hotel. It was uphill and very hot, but if you took your time and supplies of water it was OK. There's a small visitor centre with interesting information displayed in several languages...More

Immaculately kept place with two or three men tending the grounds on the day we visited. Most gravestones had two names on but there were numerous with unidentified soldier marked, which was quite sad.

The german war cemetery in Maleme is an amazing place, containing the bodies og more thsn 2400 german soldiers killed in May 1942. The place is in a beautiful way telling the sad story og all those young boys.

We took the long walk through the olive trees to get here, but most enjoyable. Small entrance has a lot of factual information and the cemetery itself is very well kept. Well worth a quick visit if close by.

Nicely laid out but shows what a waste of young life . It was a very peaceful place and away from the road.

This is one of the most beautiful memorial places I have ever seen. The story behind it is soo tragic (over 4000 German soldiers are buried here) but the place is also soo beautiful. This is at the top of hill 107 (one of the...More

This is a humbling yet beautiful place to visit. A stark reminder that war is brutal. With a small history room explaining the memorial, where you can sit if you're unable to climb the steep, but relatively short walk to the graves.
