Besides the interesting exhibits, there is also a nice history behind the building itself, initially built as the first electrical power station for the city of Heraklion

Very cute natural history museum with lots of attractions to keep little ones happy. There was an earthquake stimulator in the bottom, which was fascinating for the grown-ups and fun for the kids, and some cool moving dinosaurs as well. Animal room had a decent...More

as we drove into Heraklion, we went past this giant building with a dinosaur outside it and just had to stop. and boy were we glad that we DID! what an amazing find, and a wonderful learning experience for people interested in the natural history...More

The museum is small compared to those in the big cities of Europe but the exhibits are fun and interesting. Our 4 year old loved it and so did we. They have a kids corner with some fun activities to do after exploring the exhibits....More

Well worth a visit with five floors depicting many interesting artefacts including pir activate dinosaurs, an earthquake experience and a small cinema. The staff are very helpful and display a happy cheerful disposition.

Despite this museum covering 5 floors it was just the right length to keep our interest. Each floor told a different story. it was interactive, informative and made learning fun. Much better then expected, love the moving dinosaurs, film and earthquake stimulator.

One of the best places we visited. Fantastic for young and old alike. 5 floors filled with stuffed animals displayed in their natural habitats, moving dinosaurs, flora, fauna, light and sound illusions and much more. The interactive discovery floor was fantastic. Loved the earthquake simulator....More

Very good museum. Large dinosaur collection and they are moving. Very interesting was feeling the real earthquake. Very terrifying! Nice collection of animals too.

Fancied a trip away from the hotel pool , and a day out , the hotel arranged a taxi for us and the taxi driver even waited for us and took us on a tour as well , and still cost less than the Thompson...More
