Ammoudara was the perfect beach for us. Only a few miles from Heraklion, it was the best place for us to relax after being on the go so much in Athens the days prior. The lounge chairs were great and the food was excellent. If...More

Just ok. Not a beach you will remember but a very good idea if after you wanna visit Heraklion. Water is clean even if so close to the city.

Lovely beach in a beautiful bay. Soft sand slopes gently into the sea ideal for kids. Free sunbeds provided you buy a drink which is delivered to you while you sunbathe. Nice taverna overlooking the beach and sea.

Fairly standard although decent enough beach with lots of beach cafes offering sun beds. The approach to the sea is stoney underfoot which is a bit uncomfortable. The beach makes for a good day trip out of Heraklion and is about a 30 minute bus...More

We caught the bus in Elestherious square and went there getting off a the nearer end. It was early in their holiday season but was pleasant lying around on the beach although in April the water was cool. Think the nearer end is probably better...More
