    September in Chania (pronounced H-a-w-n-i-a!)
Chania is really interesting. If ancient and bustling is your jam, Chania is the place. It is very busy with tourists yet also beautiful in its antiquity. Make dinner reservations at Tamans. It’s also hot. Recommend the “family” beach for an escape!

    The hidden gem of Chania
A real hidden gem in Chania old town. The amount of memorabilia is unbelievable and the knowledge of the owner is staggering every piece has a story behind it. His knowledge of world football through the last 50+ years is incredible. Free to enter and very welcoming. A small tips box which we were more than happy to add to based on our experience. One of the main highlights of our holiday.

Such an interesting experience, incredible memorabilia.
An absolute highlight of the whole trip. We called in after reading great reviews, and were greeted warmly by Nikos who was so knowledgeable about our two teams, Liverpool and Burnley. The amount of memorabilia was staggering, and it came with the knowledge of dates and results to back it up. The museum holds some real treasures, and I'd recommend a visit whether you consider yourself a football fan or not - it's so interesting and just being able to see some of those shirts and trophies in person is worth the trip!

Incredible museum for a football fan. Must go!
If you come to Chania, this place is a must! Amazing stories with many treasures for a football fan. Dimitris was really nice to explain us everything about the museum. Even they have the Eurocup won by Greece on 2004. Free entrance but we were more than happy to give tips. Congratulations for your amazing job. Want to come back again! 😄

    A true gem of Chania
Everyone has to visit this museum sometime in their life because it was such a unique experience. The owner of the place has a really large amount of knowledge about football. There was no entrance fee to the museum, but there was a small tip box where everyone should put a little money for this experience

    Not just for football fans!
National museum, basically squashed into an area the size of a shop. A riot of memorabilia, including the 2004 Euro trophy, countless scarves and players shirts, footballs and tickets. From matches featuring Greece and Greece's opponents throughout the years. Interesting collection (especially stuff from matches with countries that no longer exist), and informative 'guide', ready to answer any questions you might have.

    A beautiful surprise
I randomly dropped in although I knew the existence of the place. I told my partner that I will just go in for 5 minutes and spent half an hour not wanting to leave. Amazing collection of shirts all collectibles signed. All with a history connected to a specific game. Each with their own history. Also balls and players boots, scarves and so much more! Nikos, was amazing. His enthusiasm to tell the story of the most important items was something else. I would spend hours to talk about each and every item if I could. Anyway it is a personal initiative that mesmerized me. Although highly Greece oriented It extends beyond the National team of Greece. I had a chance to see a lot from around the world. Maradona’s last worn Argentina shirt and many of the English teams and national team that I also loved as a kid!! If you love football don’t go in there for 20 minutes! Allow your self time to discuss with Mr Nikos, chat and reminice!!

Amazing experience for all football fans
This is a must experience for all football fans visiting Chania. The host, Dimitrious was a delight and more than happy to show us around his collection and take pictures. Notably they have the euro 2004 trophy, CR7, Beckham match worn shirts. I ended up purchasing a Greece home shirt too - beautiful kit. 5/5 - would highly recommend for all football fanatics to visit!!! Thank God for trip advisor else I might have missed this absolute gem!

    Fantastic Football Hidden Gem
This place is an absolute hidden gem for football memorabilia. This is a MUST visit football fan or not. The owner is very friendly and is beaming with football facts, even my girlfriend loved it. It is very apparent that this is a lifelong passion which is displayed beautifully. I would highly recommend this place, the best collection of football memorabilia I’ve ever seen. - Dan - the Leeds United Fan

This was an unexpected gem found during a week in Crete. As a big football fan I was completely lost for words by the memorabilia in this museum. Without giving any spoilers, the collection here is absolutely unbelievable and a must-see for any football fan in or around Chania. The host talked me through the exhibits with such passion and detail. Thank you so much for sharing this. A thoroughly enjoyable experience and I would love to visit again.

A must-go for football fans who are in Chania. The museum is full of footballing history, representing the monumental efforts of the curator. He gave us a detailed tour of his memorabilia, and his passion was evident. My boyfriend said it was a highlight of our trip in Crete.

For any football fan this is a must, the memorabilia and knowledge Nikos has is outstanding. The museum is only small but you could easily get lost in this pure football fantasy brought to life. Nikos, as well as running and maintaining everything was very welcoming and was very personable........A small gem in an already beautiful town

As many others have commented, this is a must see for everyone who is a football fan. The knowledge and anecdotes are awesome and these guys have a great passion for football history. The entry is free of charge but there is a tip jar. I highly recommend it, especially talking to the guys who can probably share stories and memorabilia for every higher league football club in Europe.

This place is genuinely amazing. As a football fan, I had the best time here. The man working was remarkably knowledgable and well informed, and the stuff he was showing me was so crazy for me to see. He was also super friendly and easy to get along with, meaning it was a very fun and wholesome time for both my girlfriend and I. I’m a Celtic fan from Scotland, and he was showing me ex-Celtic and ex-Scotland legends gear that had ended up in this amazing little museum in Greece. Aside from that, the more generically incredible football gear from the biggest names to ever kick a ball had me totally star struck.

I’m not being dramatic when I say it’s my favourite ‘museum’ experience of all time. If you are a football fan and in Chania, you MUST go.

During our week-long stay in Chania, a spontaneous visit to the Greek National Football Musem did not seem like it would be one of the highlights of our trip. My two pals (one Man U fan and one who doesn't follow football) and I (a Liverpool fan) weren't expecting to be on the end of such a charm offensive from the brilliant Nikos.

He was so welcoming and presented each piece of memorabilia in an inspiring manner. There were so many highlights of the tour for me, but Nikos still remains at the top of the list, it's a shame he couldn't join us for a beer afterwards!

Obviously, this museum isn't for everyone and I was worried our friend who doesn't follow football wouldn't enjoy himself but even he was taken aback by the whole experience and appreciated the passion Nikos has for the beautiful game.

Hats off to you Nikos, we hope the museum stays in Chania!

Personally, I can only recommend a visit, which is free by the way. Nikos’ dedication to these treasures can be felt at first glance in the shop window. How he takes the time to respond to the people and to tell many back stories about the jerseys, as well as the game balls and shoes as needed is remarkable.
My expectations were far exceeded!
There is also a small boutique where you can buy some jerseys from Greek clubs as well as the local hero from Chania at very fair prices.

The curator of the museum is a member of the football fan organization and is happy to explain and detail each item on the walls. In addition, you can purchase various team shirts. A recommended experience for every football fan.

I stumbled upon this museum walking around Chania. I entered and started looking round.

As I looked round I was approached by the chap running the museum. He enquired where I was from and what team I supported. He then showed me memorabilia that would be of interest to me and gave me a tour of the museum explaining the history of the Greek national side and museum highlights. The guide was really nice and approachable. For me the signed Pele and Cruyff shirts were of particular note.
