We are big fan of markets therefore we wouldn’t miss the one in Chania. While it is a nice place to walk and observe local products, the market has a huge focus in tourists. I doubt Greek people really shop there. We felt a bit...More

Built between 1909 and 1913. It was inspired on the covered market of Marseilles and known as the "Agora". Great place to walk around and not to miss when in Chania!

A local market for the locals selling their local produce. Interesting collection of vegetables, cheeses, oil wine honey on the lower road, the upper section is mainly clothes and household items

A beautiful building but not well taken care at all. Should have had a better selection of shops, since most sell souvenirs.

There are various vendors all under one roof. You can find fresh meat as well as fresh bread. There are vendors selling soaps, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, magnets, pumice stones, etc... There’s also a pharmacy right next to the main entrance. However, it carries limited...More

Not quite in the same league as the market in Barcelona but it is a great place to stroll through and see some things we are not likely to see in North America. For example non-GM fruits and vegetables in abundance, fish straight from the...More
