I guess they totally forgot their name was the happy train. The lady had this bitter attitude all the time. Not happy at all. Barely gave information (I'm not sure about her English level). She talked through the microphone during the ride but I'm not sure what language she was speaking because sometimes some words sounded like English but then... More

"an amazing sightseeing tour in the historical center of Athens and the capital's most famous ancient sights and monuments, hop-on the Athen" NO! We got on the train as it was leaving, so we were told, in daylight. We left much later in the dark. So not a lot of sightseeing as we travelled up and down dark narrow streets.... More

Probably the most excruciating little train ride I've ever been on. We were told it would start in a minute and it took half an hour to get going. No commentary, freezing cold, and boring. We got excellent views of car parks and car rental companies - maybe they were sending a subliminal message to take another form of transport... More

Its the 4th time I was about to make a ride with the little train on the 26th of December. We took it from Syntagma and they informed us that it wouldn't go through Plaka region because it was really crowded. So actually all the nice region was out of reach. We didn't see anything important...so bad for our image to the tourists.So... Was told this tour would start in about 15 mins, 40 mins later we finally got under way. Not a terrible thing as it meant the sun had gone down & I got to see the sights flood lit at night. For €6 this is ok but it's false advertising to suggest this is a hop on-hop off, there was... More

quite cheap. 6 Euro for a ride of an hour. You can hop off ans see an attraction and take the next train later. the ticket is valid for 5 hrs. It is not the most scenic route but some of the "must see" sites are passed

Quite reasonably priced and due to the size of the train, it accesses roads and laneways that the big tourist buses cannot. We took it from Athens centre and got off at the Acropolis after going through the city and then got back on to return to where we started. Although there are no real scheduled stops you can request... More

the experience was negative for us. when we found a place on the train, another train came and everyone had to go on it. We barely found a space available as many tourists who were not on the first train went on the second one as soon as it arrived. we were left crammed at the back of the train,... More

I've been on several of these mini land trains in various cities, but this was the least rewarding. I'm used to putting earphones on, selecting my language from a keypad and listening to a virtually permanent commentary throughout the trip. This did not happen. We had a real person who spent of of the time chatting constantly (off-mic, thankfully) to... More

We had a few hours to spend before leaving Athens and since it was a Sunday and nothing was open, we boarded “The Happy Train”. It was a pleasant ride and we did see some sights, mainly the same ones we did with a prior tour but it gave us something to do.
