Im not really a church person so only popped my head around the door as my wife had gone in to light a candle, very small but spectacular views from outside, where there are also a couple of "tat" vendors.

Nice surprise to find a Greek Orthodox chapel on top of Mount Lycabettus. The chapel was built in the late 18th century. The tall belfry was a gift from Queen Olga of Greece in the late 1800s. From the chapel steps are wonderful views of...More

You have to walk up the stairs... But it is worth it to see Athens from above. Really nice view and the small church is very nice

Took the cable car up and down.... Much easier than walking the myriad of steps. Wonderful views over Athens from the top where the Chapel is. Beautiful Chapel too...

The 18th century chapel is located at a beautiful point with 360 degree views of the beautiful surroundings. The people in the area are pleasent helpful country folk and the location is perfect.

Stayed at The Saint George; a boutique hotel for nine days. The hotel....centrally located in a great spot...walking distance to The Square, Plaka, and many restaurants , shopping, close to everything....hiked to the Chapel. The weather was beautiful. People are generally friendly.

This is a lovely landmark more than anything else. It is on top of Lycavittos hill, the highest in Athens, the other one being the Acropolis. The little chapel was built around the 18th century, fell into disrepair and was rebuilt later. No-one really knows...More

After you reach the top of Lycabettus Hill, by cable car or hiking, you may take a moment of relax and pray for all good to you, to your family and friends. This can be done at Saint George Chapel, an Orthodox one, painted in...More

Kolonaki / Lykavittos
By far the ritziest neighbourhood in town, Kolonaki is
home to most of the chic boutiques and designer label
stores. Here, the wealthy say no to austerity by
dressing in their finest and spending hours in the
trendy cafés around Kolonaki Square, sipping the most
expensive coffee in Europe. The area also contains a
couple of notable museums and cultural institutions,
which add to the air of nobility. The leafy upper

We had a leisurely walk up through the park and actually stopped half way for a bit of lunch ! Not too hard a walk or you can catch a Taxi to near the top or the cable car/funicular to the Restaurant nearby.
