This is an outstanding museum of how the fisherman life was during the cot fish times in Greenland and Terra Nova. This ship was a mobile hospital to provide the necessary support to the fisherman. This have X-ray machine, and was fully prepared at that time to make any advanced medical procedure! A master piece!! A curiosity: they had government... More

I worked in several hospitals in the mid '60's so enjoyed seeing the old equipment. Easy to take a self guided tour but limited info in English.

Well designed tour of key room and functions of hospital ship. Well restored. It would have been helpful if the video with former crew and Medical staff was subtitled in English.

Well, no snakes, but lots of ladders - ranging from easy going to up and down backwards and hanging on with both hands. One of these things that you would never imagine, a hospital and mother ship to support the Portuguese cod fishing fleet in the Atlantic. In my formative years, I had a lot to do with an English... We parked the car at the parking lot nearby and walked by the Navio Gil Eannes bh coincidence. After reading the information we decided to visit the ship. Good decision. The tour on the ship is well done, information is provided and it gives you a very good idea of the initial purpose of the ship. A hospital on the... More

Historical ship built in the city shipyard during the 50s. Dedicated to support the cod fishermen in North Atlantic as a hospital ship. It's fully restored and almost the entire ship can be visited. Accessibility is difficult for elderly people. Well worth a visit for3,5€

Had a fab afternoon here with our family. Everyone enjoy it. It is great value. Load free parking close by. Every corner and every room has something surprising and interesting. We spent 2 hrs here , but if we had more time we would spent longer or even went back again.
