Simple and efficient system, it seems very extensive for a city of Porto's size, certainly compared to Lisbon. The trains are basically trams and relatively short. The service to the airport seems quite infrequent, about every 30 mins or so. The centre of Porto is easily...More

The best way to visit my city. The system it's not the very easy of the gender but if you're visiting buy the Andante Tour for 1 ou more days. Travel comfortably and on time from one side to the other of the city.

An easy subway with an Oyster card ticket system divided into Zones ,a Zone 2 will suffice for central areas but a Zone 4 is required for the airport and this costs 2 Euros per trip.

simple to navigate from the airport into town. ticket purchasing not the easiest however you don't need a ticket to enter and no-one checked our tickets so i wouldn't worry too much.

it depends on the zone. first you must by a card (0.60 euro if i remember well) and you refill it each time you use the metro! i used metro for long distances (airport) and i walk to see as more as buildings and sightseeings!

AT the metro station, we grabbed the pamphlet with the schedule on it. We tucked it in our backpack for reference. You should be able to get the info there or on the website. Good luck!
