A wonderful place to watch the sunset over Porto with hundreds of other tourists. The bridge spans the Douro River and looks down onto the Old Town and water front of Porto.

You take the funicular up and then walk over the bridge; really beautiful view on the city and the boats on the river. You can walk in the middle of the bridge just watch out when the tramway is arriving.

We climbed up the steep staircase next to the bridge and then walked onto the upper level, where there were great views of the Ribeira, other parts of Porto, and boats on the river. The only down side of visiting the second level is that...More

It’s an amazing sight from the top of the bridge but all I can say is think “cassandra crossing bridge”. It carries trams on the top and cars and buses on the lower span. You can walk both spans but getting from lower to upper...More

Steel bridge among the most beautiful bridges in the world. Accessible for a walk on two level. Very well integrated into the picturesque surrounding.

We had a gorgeous warm and blue sky day. At the bridge’s area there’s the riviera and where we took a boat ride (23 euros which included a 50 minuets boat ride and a free entrance to Balem wine cellar). Beautiful and gorgeous area. Especially...More

This is a wonderful view, and probably the best metro run in the world! We bought the 2 day Porto Card and took the bus North, then the metro back to the river. If you want to tour the Port Wineries with an English tour,...More

I would not worry about it! The bridge is quite wide so if you get nervous, you can walk in the middle of the track and not be forced to look down. I have some height issues but no worries for me here. Give it a try. You... More

Yep you can walk on both levels but the top level is much better. My partner is also put off by heights and she stayed away from the edge and still saw the views. The trams run along the top level in both direction so you... More
