    We loved this area
This part of Porto is a little further away from the beautiful waterfront and a bit more uphill. I had the feeling we were escaping a little bit the with tourists packed zones. Of course there were still quite some people on the street but it felt more local and more quieter. Just great to sit down and to enjoy the surroundings.

    Not as touristy …..
Nearest metro station : Bolhao Our hotel is on this street :) It’s walking distance to Capela Das Almas (a beautiful church with blue tile facade), a shopping mall with a large supermarket, Honest Greens, Mercado do Bolhao, lots of lovely cafes. I was walking on this street at 8am to Livraria Lello … not a soul in sight. Then at 10am, suddenly … everyone’s out 😅 Would I come to Porto for this ? No. It was just convenient for us because we walked past it every day during our stay :)

    Busy and lively
This is probably the most popular walking street here in Porto. It's really full with visitors. And for good reason, there's lots of things to see and do. At the south end you'll find the Igreja Paroquial de Santo Ildefonso, then later of the Shopping mall Via Catarina, then the famous Capela das Almas, the wonderful Confeitaria Sta. Catarina and countless other shops, cafés, bakeries and more. If it's souvenirs you look for, then check out the shops at the northern end where you'll find the usual stuff, but cheaper. It's a fun, bustling, lively street. It's not something for everyday - at least not for us. But definitely a must-do for first-timers and worth your while.

    The commercial high street
The Rua Santa Catarina is a pedestrian street going through the center of Porto for 1500 meters. At one end is the Batalha Square and it continues in front of the Chapel of Souls to continue to the famous Majestic Café and beyond. You will find all the usual brands you can find in any city in Europe now; but you can also take a peek view down the side streets with small vintage shops or survivors of another age like the local butcher or bakery. Or you can take a look upwards and admire the decorated facades of the buildings. It makes for a nice stroll when the weather is fine!

    Nice pedestrian street
It is a busy street with a lot of shops, shopping center and coffee shops. It looks nice. It is a pedestrian street, but still watch out for the delivery cars. If you are going to Fábrica de nata, you will also visit this street since it is located on it.

    Main shopping street.
Let's be honest, every city has one! Main shopping street. Very busy on a Saturday. Nice atmosphere. From Zara to the historical Majestic Café! Worth a browse or to grab a bite to eat or drink.

Porto is a fantastic city! From the architecture to the shopping and eating experience. The people are nice and finding a spot to park, if you are patient, is not that hard

This is a very long street that has a number of shops and so on. It is worth walking down, however personally I felt it was quite overhyped for what it was.

We absolutely love this streets as ii is pedestrianised, makes it even better, very very popular with tourists and locals alike, there are many shops and eateries to enjoy, we especially love Humana, (for secondhand clothes) and Caterina shopping mall, which is perfect on a cold day, browsing and shopping, also has an impressive food court.

Not what I expected. Very crowded. Nothing special. I can go to Sephora and Zara at home. Was hoping to find a better shopping experience.
