Not that many people know of this gem. Well, maybe when tourists walk the upper part of Dom Luis Primero bridge they see a few people up on these walls...
The entrance is located at Bolhao, Largo Primero do Dezembro, left from Igreja Santa Clara...
Both the walls are the church are free and there is a lovely orange-tree garden with benches located down from the wall. It's something else, sitting there, being surrounded by orange trees and greenness, hearing the sounds of metro and crowds get silenced.
Go there.

Visited Porto 2 januari 2020 and the entry to the wall was blocked. So no more views possible from the end off the wall to the bridge sadly.

The walk alone the route of the stretch of wall is beautiful in parts due to the stunning view of the river. The history of this 14th Century wall can be found along the way, with shield shaped info points. Well worth the effort.

This is a section of the second Belt of city walls, it dates from the 14th Century, and there were originally 4 main gates and a number of smaller entrances, it was repaired in the 1920, and is well worth looking out for when in this area of the city.
The top station of the Funicular is adjacent to the walls

We came across the Muralha Fernandina shortly after exiting the funicular railway at the top station. Our attention was first drawn to the area when we noticed the rectangular watchtowers and fortifications, so we went over to take a closer look. Origins date back to the 14th century. The part we looked at was restored in 1920, and in front of the historic city walls is a grassed area with some trees. Also on the grassed area stands a bronze statue of Arnaldo Gama who was a Portuguese journalist and writer, author of novels of the historic environment. A pleasant area to chill out at for a while, whilst gaining some historical knowledge at the same time.

The Muralhas are open right now and there are many fascinating walks up and down from the Douro River. They are well worth checking out both for historical and for aesthetic reasons!

I went up to see the Muralhas, but it was closed for renovation, so I saw only the outside walls. Muralhas Fernandinas is the name by which it became known the medieval waist of walls of Porto of which only small parts survived until our days. New fence and Gothic wall are other designations that apply to the fernandinas walls but that, although scientifically more correct, are less currents

The best view of these medieval walls is from the top of Dom Luís I bridge. This is a piece of medieval Porto, but to be honest there is not much to see.
