Amazing bridge! Nice sightseeing, good people and has a garden with lots of people and music to enjoy at the end of the day.

Another bridge that connects Porto with Vila Nova De Gaia crossing the Duoro River. We saw it when taking the 6 bridges river cruise. It is a single span arch bridge.

Ponte de Arrabida is the first bridge from the Atlantic ocean. It's a single span arch bridge crossing the Douro river connecting Porto with Vila Nova de Gaia.
It looks like a concrete version of the iconic Dom Luis bridge without the lower level.
It's best seen from the "Six bridges cruise" which I strongly recommend as a great excursion.
They offer bridge climbing tours, something like the Harbor bridge in Sydney.

This is one of the big bridges that you will see on your hour cruise on the river. The view from down below is awe inspiring. An engineering marvel.

One of the recommendations that you should not forget is to take the cruise of the six bridges of Porto
There are quite a few companies that offer a very good boat ride of about 45 minutes in which you can enjoy the view of the six bridges that cross the Douro River.
Any time is good to do it, there are many departures and numbers of boats and companies, you do not have to book in advance
Perhaps the best time is at sunset, when the rays of light illuminate them with special colors
You have to go prepared with some warm clothing, because even on the hottest days the sea breeze can always cool us down a bit.

Tall, spanning the two high banks of the Duero. The Arrabida Bridge is an arched bridge over the Douro River that connects Porto with Vila Nova de Gaia. This bridge is a bridge with a reinforced cement arch, which at the time of its construction, in 1963, was the largest one in existence on our planet. The design and construction engineer was Edgar Antonio de Mesquita Cardoso, who collaborated with architect Inacio Peres Fernandes and engineer Jose Francisco de Azevedo e Silva. It looks great from the river. This engineering masterpiece is well worth seeing.

I did not cross this utterly massive bridge instead I went under this one along the Douro. It has a massive arched structure that many people felt would never support the weight of the traffic it was built to carry. But support it it did! And it's still going strong.
I couldn't help gazing at it in awe. It's one of many stunning bridges linking the two sides of the Douro. I've never seen a pace quite like Porto for breathtaking bridges!

It’s a bridge, and that’s all it is. Not really special or overwhelmingly beautiful. When it was finished it gots a lot of attention because people thought it wasn’t strong enough for the weight of the traffic. But it’s still standing. With Porto Bridge Climb you can climb the bridge.

This is almost not a tourist attraction, it is a lot quieter and it is a small fishing village there are cafes that have out door BBQs to cook the fish on
