Probably worth a visit but currently it is covered and enclosed in fencing and coverings due to the subway construction on the Liberdade.

It is one of the most important symbols of the city. It is also a get together point for my tourists. From here you can either go up to the tram or to the sea side.

You cant see much due to the building and renovation work being done. I took a pic but not a very good one, probably best to wait until they finish to visit.

This is a nice monument, somewhat obscured while the renovation work is going on, but still worth taking a look.

I saw this statue on a walking tour of Porto with Viking River cruises. Unfortunately, Liberdade square was under construction so it was difficult to get much of a view. It shows Pedro on a horse handing over the constitution to the people of Porto. Dom Pedro was only King of Portugal for less than a month but first Emperor of Brazil for almost 10 years.

A very large statue in the middle of the big Liberdade Square, dedicated to one of the most important kings. It is impressive, a statue of the King.

A beautiful statue in honor of King D. Pedro IV. It is located in the Praca da Liberdade, a very nice place. The statue with a stone base is large, about 10 meters high, and was made of bronze by the artist Celestin Anatole Calmels. It shows Pedro on a horse handing over the constitution to the people of Porto. It is impossible not to meet this beautiful equestrian monument dedicated to the king of Portugal and the first emperor of Brazil. It dominates Praca da Liberdade and attracts attention as you stroll through the city center.

Impressive statue of a King who was only King of Portugal for less than a month but first Emperor of Brazil for almost 10 years.
It's located at the bottom end of the grand square, opposite the Intercontinental Palace Hotel.
He is surrounded by very impressive buildings.

You could sit in this park area and while away the day. The statue is quite commanding and the area around the park is quite interesting. We enjoyed a bit of down time here while we were in Porto.

This is an elegant monument to a former king of Portugal at the end of the central square, Placa Liberdade, not far from Sao Bento train station. Its impressive and it dominates that end of the placa but that's about it really.
