Great for a view of the opposite side of the river and the bridge

For 5 euros you get a rather short but special view across the river. The funicular then drops you at the walking bridge so that you can walk back across to the town side. I'd only do it on a sunny day as we did.

It's a very short ride, but very steep with good views. It was well worth going. There is a lovely little local pub/restaurant just to the left on the top.

The cable car is modern and clean, the views are very nice overlooking the old Port wine warehouses, a 200 year old industrial estate, across the river you can see the old town built on the valley side. It's very pretty. Walk over the Iron bridge to the south bank and come through the winding staircase that is the old... More

Well worth the few euros to get back up the hill. Much easier than all of the steps or the walk up the hill. Great views of the river on the way up.

When I saw there was a funicual I thought that there were good views or something especial but when I arrived I noticed that it was just like a lift. Moreover, we were too many people inside the cabin. You can go up the way on foot

We used this several times to reach our hotel after we had walked over the bridge. Easy to use pay on entry at the kiosk. It is possible to take good photos on your way up.

Good value, great views and frequent service. Has fantastic views. We rode it several times during our weekend to travel from our hotel to the river-front.

Porto has many many many steps--this easy way of missing a monumental climb is well worth it and the veiws during the trip are great

If you have visited the Port Wine lodges, the great restaurants and walked yourself into submission taking in all that Porto has to offer, take the Funicular dos Guindais, firstly for the views and secondly to save your legs on the walk up the hill to your hotel!

We unfortunately had a bit of a rainy day but still fantastic views of the river and the bridge, not the longest of trips but worth every penny.
