Visited the Promenade in Foz do Douro a few times. The first was a part of walking the Portuguese Camino Coastal Route. Beautiful spot looking out over the ocean and beaches. Definitely worth a day trip from Porto to Foz do Douro to explore the area.

A nice and quiet part of Porto, away from the crowds. It was lovely to stop on the promenade and have a drink

We went for a very long walk through the Foz area after we left the trolley car. This is one of the areas along the sea and was picturesue.

We took the bus from central Porto to the mouth of the Douro in Foz. Then we walked back towards the city along the boardwalk on the beach. Very nice views. Lots of places for coffee or lunch. We then went to Serravales Foundation. Saw the museum and the gardens. Really wonderful. World class in every respect. We liked our walk in Foz so much we went back another day. A very relaxing and scenic walk.

Wonderful view and great beaches close to Porto. It can be difficult to look around in bad weather but definitely worth to visit in sunshine. You can get here by nostalgic tram #1 from Porto or by walk along the river

Beautiful seaside walk with a break on a beach to soak your legs. During our 3 days in Porto, we spent 4 hours from the Clérigos Tower to reach the Palácio do Cristal garden on foot via M Bombarda Street; at the bottom of the garden, tram to Passeio Alegre, on foot on the promenade to Pergola da Foz (1 hour and 30 minutes of swimming) before returning by tram to the Clérigos Tower (be careful, 2 destinations on the same line).
