The Pergola section itself is quite short but the seaside board walk stretches all the way from the Praia da Luz north to the Castelo do Queijo if you count the concrete path section at the beginning and then the wooden section past the Pergola.
It’s a very enjoyable stroll with the Atlantic on one side and various restaurants and bars dotted along the route to the other.
If you are staying in Porto then a recommended round trip would be to take the no 1 vintage tram to where it stops, then through Jardim do
Passeio Alegre to the start of the beaches. Then follow the seaside walk all the way to the end. At this point detour round the Sea Life centre to enter and walk through the Parque da Cidade do Porto. This is a very pleasant large green park with plenty of wooded areas for shade, and great to stroll through, especially in the heat of the afternoon. And then when you reach the eastern most exit you are not far from a couple of bus stops whose routes will take you back into Porto.

A beautiful place to walk and the views of the waves crashing onto the rocks are amazing. The whole coastal walk from Matosinhos to Foz is superb and this Pergola offers stunning views of some of the nicest parts of the whole stretch.
Spend as much time as your can doing as much walking as you can- as long as you have the weather! I'd say it would be quite unforgiving if the weather was in any way inclement!

We took the bus to Foz and then walked along the walkway by the Atlantic and under the pergola. Very picturesque areas with cafes to stop at overlooking the sea. The beach is lovely with a constant breeze and lots of rock pools. There are no sunbeds so you do need to take a beach mat and towels. Some people take a windbreak and umbrella but not essential. Worth a trip out. We went on a Sunday and it wasn't at all overcrowded but we did have a long wait for a bus back to the Lordello area. However no real issue when on holiday...

Whilst having a stroll along the promenade at Foz, enjoying the sea air, and passing many smaller beaches en' route, we came across this pergola.
The pergola is a fairly sizeable structure in neoclassical style.
One can enjoy views of the Praia do Molhe from the pergola, and looking out to the Atlantic Ocean. A nice romantic spot.
An easy location to get to via the STCP 500 promenade bus, or by tram route 1 to Jardim do Passeio Alegre (the tram terminus), and enjoy the promenade walk north from there.

If you´re on the beach and go to visit Pérgola da Foz it`s alright.
They look nice and make a good picture.

If you think about going to the beach just because of Pérgola da Foz - don`t do it. The Place isnt worth the hipe.

We came to this beach on our rented car, free street parking available within a short walk from the beach. Very clean, well structured, beautiful with nice restaurants and bars, it is a good spot for families with children, for couples as it is romantic or friend to enjoy the sun. I highly recommend the place, very relaxing, calming. Too much to see and take pictures of. 5*

If you take the tram out to Foz and visit the beaches at the ocean, you should seek out this covered walking area. The design is very graceful and from the walk you. get a good view of the ocean and some of the beaches.

As we walked along the promenade we saw the Pagoda and decided to stop and have a look out to sea at the ships waiting to dock. Ideal to sit and let you mind wonder.

The tourist bus takes you here. The Pergola is a small part of the boardwalk the stretches in both directions. Nice place for an ocean- side walk.
