We parked for free outside the old city and walked inside the walls. Inside it would be hard to find parking, it is free, but it is all taken. We had people guiding us all along...the people are kind. It was very hot in August,...More

This is a truly lovely square but with the restaurants & cafes spreading out in fornt of their premises and with large sunshades the views are completely spoilt

Our walking tour of Guimaraes terminated in this square. It is a beautiful mediaeval square and there are some very interesting buildings.

The lights and the cafés are the best part. The whole surrounding of it all is just very nice. Fun fact: happydent (chewing gum) is only €00.02 cents whilst another restaurant in porto was €00.10 cents

By day a tourist attraction and at night a fantastic place to unwind with a local beer and great tapas

This square, like the entire casco viejo, remains very beautiful. This is a very special town in Portugal where many towns are not in pristine condition. This town is wonderful.

Come here for the evening with friends to eat and drink. It is a bustling square with lots of people and lots of character but it never feels crowded.

Enjoy walking in a medieval city. Beautiful architecture, a church, shops, restaurants, and just the feel of an old Portuguese city. Walk through after you have visited the castle just for the ambiance!
