The best time to visit is in July and August because of the lighting and parties full of food and fashion sold there and children and teenagers rides. The lighting is very beautiful at night

Guumarães is a charming historical town. The Turism Information Office is in Praça Santiago (Santiago Square). They'll give you valuable advice as to where and what to visit. A place you should include in your visit to Portugal.

Taking the train from Porto for the day was worth the visit. The historical centre of the town is beautiful. So quaint but so alive. Didn't find it to busy with tourists. Many of the sights are walkable.
