We stop by this old historic town from Douro valley before going to Porto. This is the ancient town and has beautiful castle. The atmosphere of the city is relaxing.

Went by train from Porto to Guimaraes ,(approx 1 hour) , very nice day trip. The historical district is very interesting , lots of lovely old buildings and churches, very photogenic.
