There's a bus (#2) that goes from downtown Braga up to the Bom Jesus complex. The stop in town is on the west side of Avenida da Liberdade (the main street that starts at the southwest corner of the Praça da República) just after it...More

The Bom Jesus is in an utterly degraded state, if this is to be a tourist attraction the Braga municipality must do more.

This is a must go attraction if you are in Braga. Located in the top of a hill, this church and the stairs leading to it is an outstanding piece of architecture. You can drive to the top or take the funicular.

The grounds were manicured to a perfection. The church was magnificent and with such detail. We rode the cable car up and walked down. We hired a cab from the Braga city center and cost less than 7 euros.

Great views and very interesting place. The kids will love the old (and ecological!) funicular. The Baroque staircase is also impressive, I would strongly recommend to walk them in your way down.
