Museu Arqueológico de Barcelos ia a place located in the old palace of Condes de Barcelos, now in ruins, in the upper part of the town, in the North of Portugal. The museum is located in open air and you can see the ruins of the palace and some old stones. It is free and from here, you can see very beautiful views of the river and Barcelinhos, the town in the opposite riverside. Very nice and beautiful.

Find yourself walking thru these outdoor ruins while enjoying a beautiful view of the old Roman river and a great view of Barcelinhos. Don’t forget to stop at the old Gothic church next door that is a National Monument, it’s also free!

This is an amazing outdoor walk through hundreds of years of history simply by reading about the artifacts housed here. There is no indoors, there is no admission, there is no air conditioning....but there are info tags on all the items, the setting is amazing, and you can sit for thirty minutes and simply contemplate life and put things into perspective.

Make sure you walk along the river and mill as well.

Open Art museum that showcases pieces from different places and of historical value that have been collected and saved. I found it worth visiting and learning about the city.

This small but interesting site, has a wonderful view and is well worth the visit. Free entry and the site itself is well maintained and has wheelchair access.

You can casually walk round here, enjoy the ruins and generally soak in a bygone age.

Worth it for the views alone and enjoyed it very much.

This is not a destination but is a lovely place for a casual walk. Sometimes I do not need much stimulation to enjoy a site like this. The place lacks good signage and explanations, but as I walk it I can imagine Roman times and the 14th century and the other periods it represents. Grand views of the river and of Barcelinhos. Stroll there and on the river walk before dinner at one of the three top-rated Trip Advisor restaurants.

When passing this is worth a look but not traveling for . However threat of the town is certainly worth spending time in. Nice to walk near the river and marvel between 11 and 1 those numbers on the walking route that passes here at a certain time of day.
