Consists of a small and a medium size room.The small room has no English translation just some well worn cards in English, which aren't much help.The larger roomhas an armistice day exhibition. This does have English translation. Otherwise much as before.What was the1931 Madeira revolt...More

A small but interesting military museum inside the barracks and other governmental offices. For eu 2.00 p/p you get an insight in the military history of Madeira. It takes appr. half an hour and the layout is well done.

Thought it was free but even though over 65s get in for €1.50 I felt it didn't live up to my expectations. A few guns, paintings of soldiers on the walls and although there are laminated pages in various languages, it didn't really tell us...More

Only €1.50 for crinklies and kids! It is very informative and definitely multililnigual. It certainly gave me an insight to the military history of the island. I managed to combine it with a visit to the palace next door. This is free and VERY well...More

Well worth the €2 admission. There are 3 rooms with interesting military memorabilia. Translation notes available in English in relation to the main artefacts. Videos also worth watching.
