I went for a try dive. Iv never done any scuba diving before so I was a bit apprehensive but Ricardo made me feel so comfortable that I forgot about my fear the moment we hit the pool for a quick training. The view under water was amaaaazing I'll definitely do it again next time im in Funchal and I'll definitely do it with sealife scubadiving because they are very patient with their clients!…

We had a try diving experience today with Ricardo and Alex. At 9.30am, Alex picked us up from the city. The training explanation was clear and the guys were very attentive. After a training in the pool it was straight to the sea where the ocean was filled with a wide variety of colourful fish. The instructors went out their way to ensure we got the full experience underwater and were generally lovely to us. They even shared their favourite restaurants after! Highly recommend and we hope our paths will cross again soon.…

Nice place and good team to dive with. There are a couple of gentle dives next to the dive centre, with gentle current and great marine life. Beyond that, there’s a wreck around 30m west of the dive centre, and some great drift diving east. I dived with Ricardo, Roderigo and Paola, and they were a great team, good leaders across the board, from working with divers rediscovering the sport to new joiners. Definitely recommend!…

We visited the Vida Mar hotel in Funchal in 2018 at which point our two older daughter took a taster session of scuba diving with the team at the Sealife Scuba Centre. It was a resounding success with both managing to have some time in the sea as well as pool. This month we returned and both daughters undertook the Junior Open Water course. Alex, Rodrigo, Ricardo and Paola were fantastic in looking after our girls throughout. The girls enjoyed the dives but also got a strong grounding in the safety side of things. We would wholeheartedly recommend any diving course with this team of professional, kind and generous team. Hope to be back in 2020!! Murdo and Family.…

My husband and I did our OW course at Sealife January 2019. It was the best decision we have every made in terms of investing in a hobby. We were welcomed by Michael (an absolute gem of a person and superstar instructor). We loved Michael right away because he was very attentive and answered our questions in detail. A big win for me was that Michael was just as safety focused as I am, that really put me at ease. The course The course content was delivered digitally and very easy to understand and study. Michael was an excellent resource to help understand concepts and teach us on to apply the theory in the water. The instruction Michael couldn't have been more professional and attentive if he tried. He was flawless with his safety instructors and safety checks while in the water. He was wonderful and really made our learning experience unique. He was easy to follow and learn with. When we come back to Madeira, we will definitely seek to take more courses with Sealife! Learning practices for life In the community, people/ divemasters have congratulated us on how even though we are newbies, we are well prepared and very practical divers (thanks to all the tips and insight Michael shared). Overall: The equipment and facilities were impeccable! The staff are well organized and friendly. Michael runs a tight ship and we appreciated that very much. We dived in early January and the water conditions were not fantastic, with 5-10m visibility. But the location in front of Vidamar hotel is perfect for new divers learning and practicing skills, and Michael made us feel very comfortable inside and outside the water. Michael was even kind enough to take us for an extra dive. Thank you Michael and the rest of the Sealife team for making our dives so memorable.…
