If you have a hire car then this place is the original Madeira view point (North of the Island) and far more magnificent views then Cabo Girao!!! We stumbled across it during a drive out of Sao Jorge back to Funchal but via St Vincente to explore and see a different part of the Island. The roads are steep and windy but well worth the breath holding moments and hair raising bends. A local had set up a small fruit and veg stall and we purchased beautiful, fresh avocados and mangos. But back to the views, they were to die for. Lucky with the weather (although it was raining on the other side in Funchal) the climate changes by the different locations on the island. Highly recommend this drive. Also many small, local restaurants to stop on route make this really a must on anyone's list of things to see in Madeira.…
