We got in this tour from the main plaza. We were told that we were going to have a tour around Sintra. However what I experienced is a go around, not really stopping for anything and poor to none explanations. The traffic was bad, but that is not up to them. The overall experience is poor, not going much around... More

we had the Portugal Eurorail pass and thought that it will be easier to travel with it. Big Mistake! We start our journey at Rossio station, trying to go to Sintra. It Was very complicated to validate the auroral pass as it has to be validate at a different office than the one that sell tickets for Sintra and has a... More

We have to admit to being complete addicts of these touristique trains and have enjoyed them all over Europe. Although the best in our opinion remains that in Chinon, France which goes out of the town and into the vineyards, this runs it pretty close.Advancing years make steep streets something of a trial nowadays but this form of transport makes... The train to Sintra takes 45 minutes - but leave plenty of time to get your ticket at the station. Ticket machines ( long queues) did not seem to be operating fully and you can only buy one ticket at a time - very time consuming. Easier to go to the ticket office but again long queues. Journey very pleasant... More

Train journey to Sintra was good and then caught circular bus tour. Spent time at Sintra enjoying the sights, the architecture and the atmosphere. Had lunch there and later rejoined the circular bus which was a spectacular hair raising ride with wonderful views (and bated breath) driven by an excellent bus driver. Well worth the 5 euro per person charge... More

The streets and traffic in Sintra can be quite difficult to navigate so the little train is a fun way of getting around hassle free and not having to worry about parking.

Feel like a well-off family going to the beach. You have no car, no buses. Just quaint old tram that takes you there. That's what you really het; an obsolete (but marvelously slow) transportation, through one of the most beautiful regions of Portugal. Won't tell you more, not to spoil the surprises. Not to miss

If you want to see round the town, this is the way to go. Only 4euros for an all day ticket. They also have a disabilities carriage, which I thought was good. Nice.

The views you get from the train do not give you many of the sights of Sintra as they are set back and not visible. The commentary was very brief and difficult to understand.
