Nestled on the rugged coastline of Portugal near the westernmost point of mainland Europe, Praia da Ursa is a true hidden gem. It is untouched by the hustle and bustle of the more commercialized beaches. This secluded paradise offers breathtaking views and a serene atmosphere that can make any hike worthwhile.

The beach and the landscape are amazing, but beware of the slippery cliffs and the tide! I was there in September solo on the beach which is on the right side and the tide switched super fast and I was stuck into the water and the rocks. I had to climb over a big rock into a rock cleft and stay there and fight for my life for 2 hours until the safety squad came to save me. They could do it neither by land or water, because the area is super rocky and dangerous especially when big waves arise so they saved me by helicopter. I will be always grateful to the Bombeiros, the Air Force, and The Marine forces and I just want to warn you that there are no signs there regarding this danger and the safety team told me people who do not know how dangerous it is die there every day! It is 100% worth visiting but never go alone and respect the ocean!

An amazing beach to visit in Sintra. It is also accessible via public transport. Its rocky cliffs and sea rocks are one of a kind. There are also other beaches close by to discover when going there.

An Absolute Must-Visit: No matter your mode of transportation – be it biking, hiking, driving, or taking a bus – the journey to Praia da Ursa is a necessity. When hiking down, ensure you wear suitable athletic shoes and consider the left path or a direct hike from Cabo da Roca. Immerse yourself in nature's symphony: the wind, rocks, cliffs, sand, sea, and waves create a stunning backdrop. Prepare for crazy waves and the cold sea – it's a paradise you won't want to miss!

The beach is a little bit hidden. There is a path from Cabo da Roca. It is really beautiful and not crowded, which makes it super cool. The path down to the beach is very steep, so you must be careful. The waves are usually strong there, so we didn't enter the water.

Amazing beach! Great hike! Actually a bit difficult!

The beach is hard to get to and the trail is not only a maze but a bit dangerous. No one knows how to get to the beach, so don't follow a random person. If you are facing the beach and go right, you are going the wrong way.

Wait for a person who is coming back from the beach and ask them for directions!

Bring a backpack not a totebag, wear sneakers or boots, bring a layer, and don't give up.

Some tips:

1. Wear snickers, not sandals or flip flops, as you can slip.

2. The climb is a bit steep on some areas, so you will need to rely on your legs and hands.

3. There are no amenities on the beach, so bring some drinks and snacks with you.

4. The water is very cold and there are many waves.

5. You will encounter some nudists.

6. There are places where you can park the car/motorcycle.

We've spent a lovely day and we will return there; it felt very peaceful.

If you don't mind hiking, then do it. The views are worth it, even if you don't make it down to the beach, just take a walk to the clifs' edge above.
Just a short way down from Cabo da Roca, kill two birds with one stone.

One of the most beautiful beaches in Europe, easy to get there and not expensive at all. Portugal offers the best options to spend a week off of the routine.
